Silver Lake

Dani really, really, really bad wanted to go on a hike. She had been looking up different hikes online and looking through all of our guide books, she even went to the library to get some info there. So, on Monday the 15th, she Ginny and I drove up to Brighton for a simple hike that would work for both a three year old and a 17 year old.

We choose the Silver Lake Trail which has a board walk that loops around the lake and winds through the marshes and pine forest.

The trail is interpreted which made for some interesting stops along the way.

We loved the fresh mountain air,

and deep fall colors.

It was a very easy hike, just right for Ginny. She drove us crazy though asking for something to eat every 30 seconds. She ate all the snacks we brought and then a huge Einstein bagel shmear on the way home - seriously!

Dani would have liked some more intensity, but she was happy we did it. In fact it made her hungry for more. She ended up hiking the Mueller Park Trail later in the week. She said the colors in that canyon where amazing.
